My ideal music solution by alex rainert -

“If I could fashion my ideal music solution, it would would be Rdio with optional cloud storage where I could dump my mixes, mashups, etc. and then access via the Rdio front-end. (extra credit: if I could easily save URLs to this service and stream from that interface, I’d be totally covered but I recognize that’s not for everyone)”

100% agree. I just wrote about how I will often buy albums on Bandcamp and then not download them, because I’m tired of finding physical space to store them. If I could store my purchases in Rdio (plus add the unofficial remixes and mixtapes available on Soundcloud), that’d be perfect. This will happen. Just a matter of who will get there first.

“As I get older, I find the single most important thing I can do to make my life better is form new habits. This includes building time for exercise into my morning, making sure I take proper breaks during the day, and biking to work. These are things that are easy to put off, but if you manage to make them habits, it pays off in dividends. You feel better, you work more efficiently, and (uncited studies show) you live longer. And for the record, I find biking is the easiest habit to form– you have to get work somehow, might as well use the way that is good for you and saves you money.” —

What is the best order to read Ultimate Marvel? -

Thanks! And also thanks to equivalencyofme

And can you actually tag people in Tumblr for realsies?

newnoisethriller:

Ultimate Spider-Man is pretty great. So is The Ultimates. Those two are connected in that there is a crossover between the two called Ultimate Six. Ultimate Six apparently takes place after Ultimate Spider-Man #46.

You would be fine with reading those two series self-contained. Don’t read Ultimates 3 as it is absolutely horrible.

If you wanted to read more, after reading a large chunk of Ultimate Spider-Man and the Ultimates and getting used to reading comics I would THEN recommend reading Ultimate X-Men and/or Ultimate Fantastic Four. I enjoyed both of those series. Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) wrote some Ultimate X-Men (it was okay) and Stuart Immonen (a Canadian and my favourte Marvel Artist) drew some of Ultimate X-Men. There were some really excellent stories in Ultimate X-Men but it started to fizzle out after a while. There were also some solid stories in Ultimate Fantastic Four INCLUDING the introduction of Marvel Zombies which I thought was stellar.

After that there are a whole series of ‘events’ like Ultimate War, Ultimate Nightmare as well as a few tie-in series like Ultimate Iron Man, Ultimate Thor and some one offs like Ultimate Daredevil. I didn’t read many of those although I heard some of them were good. I would recommend reading those after reading Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimates (1 and 2), Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four. I think there was an Ultimate Spider-Man Team-Up that ran for a bit and I quite enjoyed.

Does that help? Anyone have anything to add?

As always, if you need comic recommendations let me know ;)

I sure put Quora to good use.

“Before we delve into the specifics of the sporting fairytale that has unfolded over the past three weeks, we must get some housekeeping out of the way: Ryder Hesjedal’s Giro d’Italia triumph is the single greatest accomplishment by a Canadian athlete in the history of the country.” —

Strong words.

“If you can convince people to just post “the good stuff”, then the payoff – a playlist of all your friends’ current favourite songs, hand-picked and changing daily – is something genuinely new in the online music space.” —

Matt Ogle, Co-Founder of This Is My Jam

Completely agree with this. This Is My Jam has become my favourite online playlist because it filters out everything except that one song people like best right now.
